Hello! My name is Amy Rausch, and I am a senior drawing and art education major at Colorado State University. I graduated on December 18, 2010 Cum Laude with my BA in Art Education and BFA in Drawing. I am recently finished my student teaching at Littleton High School and Centennial Academy of Fine Arts.

I believe that every student should have the chance to learn how to think like an artist. Art provides all people with the opportunity to see the world in a different way. It is also something that people can do for the rest of their lives. Like writing or math, art is an acquired skill. A person can improve their art with the proper skills and practice. I strive to provide students with accessible, comprehensible ways to approach art. Like anything else, art requires practice to become a good artist. I believe it is my role as an art teacher to treat each student individually and push them to their highest potential based on what their needs are.

I have had experience with children of all ages through my work as a student teacher and practicum teacher. I have worked with students from Littleton High School, Centennial Academy of Fine Arts, Thompson Valley High School, Boltz Middle School and the Lab School for Creative Thinking. I have also had experience by teaching private art and music lessons as well as babysitting and being a nanny.

Aside from loving art, I am currently engaged to be married, love my family, and also do freelance artwork creating portraits and murals. I was also an active member on CSU's competitive swing dancing team.
