Teapot Printmaking

Objectives/Standards: The students were introduced to the art of printmaking. Students created a teapot drawing which they transferred to a piece of foam that was used as their printing plate.

Origami Cranes

Objectives/Standards: The students were read Sadako and the Thousand Paper Cranes by Eleanor Coerr and were introduced to Sadako Sasaki. Sadako tried to fold 1,000 cranes to wish away her cancer. The students wrote down their wishes on slips of paper that were attached to the origami cranes the students folded.

Flipbooks

Objectives/Standards: The students were introduced to a brief history of traditional animation (zoetropes, Walt Disney's cel animation, motion and timing). Students created storyboards to map out the path of motion they hoped to achieve in the creation of their flipbooks.
